On May 2, 2005 in Washington D.C., KUOW's General Manager Wayne C. Roth received public broadcasting’s most prestigious honor – the 2005 Edward R. Murrow Award, presented by the Corporation of Public Broadcasting (CPB).

2005 ASIAN AMERICAN JOURNALISTS AWARD – EXCELLENCE IN JOURNALISM (RADIO)

Ruby de Luna wins an AAJA Excellence in Journalism Radio Award for her five-part series on food Lefse, Rice and Fry Bread: A History of Washington Through Food. AAJA National Awards recognize and encourage excellence among Asian American journalists and outstanding coverage of Asian American issues.The story was done as part of KUOW’s Program Venture Fund
