KUOW 94.9 FM Public Radio Awarded Edward R. Murrow Honors
For Best Documentary
Reporter Patricia Murphy's Series On
I.V. Drug Use Receives National Award
(June 13, 2005) Seattle, WA: KUOW 94.9, NPR News & Information, was honored with The National Edward R. Murrow award for best radio documentary, for Reporter Patricia Murphy series "Taming the Snake" from the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) for 2005.
A panel of judges comprised of radio and television news managers nationwide country had already awarded the series its regional award. Commenting on the award, KUOW News Director Guy Nelson said: "It was an honor enough to receive the award for best documentary in the Northwest. For Patricia's series to be recognized as the best in the nation is a truly a testament to the quality of work that the KUOW newsroom produces."
