Washington Voters Say Yes Again to Long-Term Care
Once again, Washington voters have approved a measure that requires more training for long–term care workers. Initiative 1163 would also require stiffer background checks.
In 2008, voters passed a similar measure but the law has yet to take effect because of funding. And as KUOW's Ruby de Luna reports, it's still not clear how the state will pay for the training.

Tacoma Approves Measure To Limit Pot Arrests

Seattle Voters Reject $60 Car Tab Measure
Seattle voters soundly rejected a proposal to raise their car licensing fees by $60. Proposition 1 would have paid for transit improvements in the city, as well as road and sidewalk repairs. It was championed by both the mayor and the City Council. KUOW's Deborah Wang has more. More »

After 8 Decades, State Control Of Liquor Sales To End
Washington voters have ended nearly 80 years of state–controlled liquor sales. Initiative 1183 is currenly passing with 60 percent of the vote. The measure privatizes the sale of booze and closes state liquor stores. KUOW's Austin Jenkins reports from Seattle. More »
