Rosenblum Wins Democratic Attorney General Primary

Oregon Democrats have chosen former state judge Ellen Rosenblum as their nominee for attorney general. She defeated former federal prosecutor Dwight Holton in Tuesday's primary election by a wide margin. But it's still not clear if Rosenblum will face any opposition in the general election this fall. A Sign Of Hope? Refugees Return To Darfur: The United Nations estimates that since 2003, close to 3 million Sudanese were displaced by civil war. Many moved to massive refugee camps, where they have remained for almost a decade. Over the last year more than 100,000 refugees have made their way back to Darfur to begin picking up the pieces — the largest return of refugees since the conflict began. Could this be a sign of hope that the conflict is cooling? It's been less than a year since the Republic of South Sudan gained its independence. As violence heats up in the Nuba Mountains, is it too soon for refugees to return?

What's So Super About Super Tuesday? It's Super Tuesday, with 419 delegates to the GOP convention up for grabs. Mitt Romney currently claims the most among Republican candidates, with 353 delegates. Since a candidate needs 1,144 delegates to win the nomination, what will today's results actually mean?

Jeffrey Clements — Corporations Are Not People: In the wake of the Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling allowing corporations, unions and individuals to make unlimited donations to political campaigns, Congress is considering a new amendment to the US Constitution that would limit the protections of the Constitution to "natural persons." GOP Caucuses Are Finished, But The Voting Is Not Over

Record numbers of Republicans in Washington turned out to select delegates and cast votes in a non–binding presidential straw poll this weekend. Mitt Romney was the clear winner, followed by Ron Paul and Rick Santorum. But it will be months before the Romney campaign knows exactly how many delegates it can count on from Washington state.
