KUOW and UW World Series present Shen Wei Dance Arts. Shen Wei Dance Arts creates interdisciplinary, cross–cultural performances for forward–looking audiences. Each work by Artistic Director Shen Wei develops a dance vocabulary incorporating visual and storytelling elements from the theater, Chinese opera, Eastern philosophy, traditional and contemporary visual art, and sculpture.

KUOW and Northwest Film Forum present the Children's Film Festival Seattle. The festival includes over 100 family–friendly movies from over 25 countries. Highlights include a live performance by Casper Babypants, a papercut animated film of fables from around the world and the annual Pancake Breakfast.

Dave Isay & StoryCorps — Love Stories

UW Graduate School — Walker Ames Endowed Lecturer: Russell Berman

Practical concerns tend to place a premium on informational reading to the disadvantage of aesthetic education. This familiar trade–off in current debates is hardly new. Similar concerns defined cultural production during the rapid industrialization of Germany in the 19th century. This talk explores the durability of fiction within a scientific–realist setting through the problem of poetic realism in the work of the author Theodor Storm (1817-1888), including his reception in social theory.

ArtsWest presents the Seattle Premiere of "All Through The Night" by Shirley Lauro. A theatrical account of four German, gentile women living through the rise and fall of Adolph Hitler. This play is based on actual interviews with women who navigated the landscape of fascism from the inside, directed by Artistic Director, Christopher Zinovitch.

ACT Theatre's 'Seattle Confidential' invites the public to anonymously submit personal stories inspired by a given provocative theme. A select number of these confessions are performed live by Seattle actors, while the live audience participates in anonymous, real–time digital polling. Anonymous stories accepted on ACT Theatre's Seattle Confidential website through February 6.

In their midst is Mathias, innkeeper in a derelict town, who is haunted by a secret that changed the direction of his life.

Book–It Repertory Theatre presents "Prairie Nocturne." Northwest novelist Ivan Doig goes back and forth through time in this story of three extraordinary characters on the Montana plains. The Museum of History & Industry presents "Now & Then," an exhibit exploring the history of Seattle through repeat photography by Paul Dorpat with collaboration from Jean Sherrard and Berangere Lomont. Come see how landscapes and cityscapes have changed over the years in this robust collection of hundreds of photographs. Beginning with early photos of Paris, the birthplace of photography, Dorpat returns to locales photographed long ago to chronicle transformations in Washington state, Seattle, and Dorpat's own daily walks through the Wallingford neighborhood.

Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience — From Fields To Family: Asian Pacific Americans And Food

This exhibit will investigate cultural traditions and cooking techniques that have adapted and changed with the passing of time and generations, uncover the ways politics influences how food is produced and by whom, and honor those who have sacrificed to bring food to our tables. Visitors can experience the sights, sounds, tastes and smells of food in the homes and life of diverse Asian Pacific Americans.
