Program Manager, Washington Center for the Book
Chris Higashi is program manager of the Washington Center for the Book at The Seattle Public Library, where she has worked since 1992. She co–founded and directs Seattle Reads, the library's widely–emulated One Book program. She coordinates the annual author residency, develops the center's promotional materials and reader's guide, and works with community partners. Ms. Higashi coordinates the annual Washington State Book Awards and the A. Scott Bullitt Lecture in American History, among other literary and humanities programming. She is a native of Seattle. She lives in the Madison Valley with her two cats and a house full of books.
