Norm Arkans

Associate Vice President of Media Relations and Communications, University of Washington

Norm Arkans has worked at the University of Washington since 1979 and overseen the University's media relations program since 1985. He was named to his present post in 2004, having served as associate vice president and executive director of University Relations from 1993–2004, and as assistant vice president for University Relations from 1985–92. Mr. Arkans received his AB from Franklin and Marshall College and earned MA and PhD degrees in English literature from UW, with a scholarly emphasis on Victorian literature.
