On the eve of the primary, a chat with the Dems of District 8

The deadline to submit ballots for this fall's primary election is tomorrow night at 8pm. Washington's District 8 is a closely watched race, in part because it has no incumbent.

With Republican Representative Dave Reichert's retirement, there are three Democrats and one Republican vying to replace him. The campaign of Republican Dino Rossi didn't return our emails, but Bill Radke sat down with Kim Schrier, Shannon Hader, and Jason Rittereiser to see where they stand on the issues.

Last week in Portland, there was a demonstration that the Southern Poverty Law Center warned could be the next Charlottesville. That didn't happen, but protest culture and police response are drawing greater scrutiny in the city. Ericka Cruz Guevarra of Oregon Public Broadcasting has been reporting on the story.
