Is there another government shutdown in our future?

Remember that time when Republicans seemed to have backed off shutdowns as a governing strategy? That was then, this is now. 

The president wants to use a fall spending deadline to force a vote on his border wall, and is threatening a shutdown if he doesn't get his way. Washington state representative Derek Kilmer has been working on immigration reform, and will be voting on the spending deadline.

You probably remember the World Cup last month. But you might not remember the last major FIFA event: a massive string of arrests for money laundering and bribery that took place in 2015. The investigation that took down the upper echelons of soccer's governing body was kicked off by a single IRS agent in Orange County, California. The story has an endless number of twists and turns, larger-than-life characters, and tiny details that led to big men's undoing. Buzzfeed investigative reporter Ken Bensinger has written a book about the case, called "Red Card: How the US Blew the Whistle on the World's Biggest Sports Scandal."
