Colson Whitehead’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel “The Underground Railroad” is the story of a young slave named Cora who escapes from a Georgia cotton plantation.

It’s a historical novel. But history is enhanced through the craft of storytelling and through the magic of Whitehead’s imagination. He discussed the novel with Marcie Sillman.
