Bob Ekblad: Reading the Bible With the Damned

Presbyterian Minister Bob Ekblad has spent the last twenty years studying the Bible with some of the world’s poorest individuals. In his book, Reading the Bible With the Damned, he talks about Bible study as a means to empower the individual. He aims to teach people to analyze and problem-solve through religious studies. Through his ministry, Tierra Nueva, and his school, The People’s Seminary, Ekblad works with thousands of Latin American migrant workers in Skagit Valley. Ekblad is also a chaplain at the Skagit County Jail. Bob Ekblad spoke at Elliott Bay Book Company on January 8th, 2006.
