Libby Convicted / Immigration Raid / Washington's Presidential Primary

Ross Reynolds
03/06/2007 at 12:00 p.m.

Lewis Libby, Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff, has been found guilty of obstruction, perjury and lying to the FBI in the leak of a CIA agent's identity. Prosecutors said he discussed the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame with reporters. Then he made up a story to make his revelations seem harmless. Today on The Conversation, your reaction to the Libby verdict.

Also, federal officials raid a popular downtown Seattle bakery and arrest four undocumented workers. Do you applaud tougher law enforcement on illegal immigrants? Or do you object?

Finally today, Washington state has set aside millions of dollars for a Presidential Primary in May 2008. But by then the nominees will likely be chosen. And the state parties may ignore the results anyway. So why are we having a presidential primary? We'll ask Washington Secretary of State Sam Reed.

Guests:
Lorie Dankers is a spokesperson for the Seattle Field Office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which raided Macrina Bakery yesterday.
Sam Reed is Secretary of State of Washington.
