Al Gore in Seattle: A KUOW Exclusive

Jenny Asarnow
06/07/2007 at 8:00 p.m.

Al Gore calls himself a 'recovering politician.' He says he grew up believing 'sooner or later, the truth will come riding to the rescue,' that policy–makers base their decisions on facts. But he was disillusioned when politicians brushed aside scientific evidence of global warming. He thinks a broken communication 'ecosystem' is to blame. Al Gore asks a Seattle audience to confront the news media, President Bush, and the War in Iraq.

KUOW has exclusive permission to broadcast Al Gore's speech. He spoke on June 4th, 2007 at Town Hall Seattle. His speech was presented by the Town Hall Center for Civic Life and The Elliott Bay Book Company.
