How can people in India feed their cows when their children are growing hungry? How can people in Morocco allow men to hold all the family power? Rick Steves says travel helps you move beyond "bumper sticker judgment" on other cultures. He says he won't pass judgement on an Indian parent's decisions. Travel, says Steves is a political act. When he writes about travel, he won't just say, "It's rainy in Ireland and the people are great." Steves says no way. Instead, it's about experiences. And experiences turn Americans into global citizens who understand the world better.
