Sonics Trial Starts Today

Derek Wang
06/16/2008

Today is Day 1 of the trial between the city of Seattle and the owners of the Seattle Sonics. The Sonics want to move to Oklahoma City. They say they're losing money under the current deal at Seattle Center. The City has sued, seeking to hold the team to its lease for the next two seasons. For some perspective, KUOW's Derek Wang spoke with attorney Randy Aliment. Aliment represented the former owners of the Seahawks in 1996, when the team was threatnening to move to Los Angeles. He's not connected to the Sonics case. This interview was produced by Jason Pagano.
