Nancy Niedzielski is a spokesperson for the "Death with Dignity" campaign. She gathered over 1,700 signatures to put I–1000 on the ballot, and has spoken on behalf of I–1000 at events across the state. After her husband's painful battle with brain cancer, he asked her to promise him that she would work to bring the option of death with dignity to terminally ill patients in Washington.
Dr. Rheba de Tornyay is the Dean Emeritus of the School of Nursing at the University of Washington. She is the founder of the de Tornyay Center for Healthy Aging and a spokesperson for the "No on I–1000 Assisted Suicide" campaign.
Dr. James Gordon has worked in palliative care for almost 30 years. He is a neurologist at Northwest Hospital where he is chair of the Ethics Committee. He is also the vice chair of the Ethics, Law and Humanities Committee of the American Academy of Neurology and a clinical associate professor of neurology at the University of Washington.
