Jimmy Carter – 39th president of the United States and Nobel Peace Prize winner – is our guest this hour. Carter brokered a peace deal between Israel and Egypt while he was president. What's his advice for President Barack Obama to help bring about peace in the Middle East? The former president has said "there is no debate in America about anything that would be critical of Israel." He's also met with the leadership of Hamas, considered a terrorist group by the U.S. State Department.
We'll talk about all of this, and we'll take your questions. What do you want to ask Jimmy Carter? We'll also find out who, next to his parents, has had the biggest influence in Jimmy Carter's life.

Jimmy Carter was the 39th president of the United States. He's a peanut farmer from Georgia and served in the Navy before running for political office. He founded the Carter Center in 1982 to advance human rights around the world. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his work "to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts." He's a member of the Elders, a group of statesmen working to solve global problems that includes Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. Carter is the author of 21 books, including a poetry collection, a children's book, and "Palestine Peace Not Apartheid." His new book is "We Can Have Peace in the Holy Land."
Norm Stamper is former chief of the Seattle Police Department. He joins us from his mountain cabin on Orcas Island.
