A Military Family in Wartime

U.S. combat troops are expected to leave Iraq by 2010, but in the meantime, troops are still being deployed to war. Which means their families still deal with their absence. Alison Buckholz lives in Anacortes. Her husband will soon deploy to Iraq. He returned from a deployment on an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf almost a year ago. Alison knows it'll be hard for her and their two young kids. Scott's last deployment was so hard, Alison wrote a book about it, called "Standing By." And she's continuing to talk about how hard deployment is on her family, even though she's learned military families don't talk to outsiders about what they're going through.
