State House Budget, Cap-and-Trade, and School Air Quality

Ross Reynolds
03/31/2009 at 1:00 p.m.

Yesterday's state Senate plan to close a $9 billion budget gap erases 7,000 jobs, cuts education and health care, and closes prisons. Lawmakers in the state House propose their budget today. We'll hear details from KUOW's Olympia correspondent Austin Jenkins. Then Congressman Jay Inslee explains the just–announced federal cap–and–trade program to rein in greenhouse gas emissions. Also, an elementary school in South Park is one of 62 schools nationwide to take part in an EPA air quality study. Plus, more highlights from the "Conversation" vault.
