Industrializing the Wild

Alternative energy production is being encouraged by the Obama administration. Ideally, these new energy sources replace fossil fuels and decrease the amount of pollutants in our environment. They can also create new jobs. But much of this new industry is being built in rural and wilderness areas. Are "green" energy projects really greener? What are we compromising for clean energy?
