One Year's Wages

Jeannie Yandel
01/09/2010

1.4 billion people in the world live on less than $1.25 a day. But most of those people are in other countries. So we rarely see the impact of extreme poverty in this country. Three years ago, Eugene Cho wanted to encourage more people to start doing something to help those in desperate need. Eugene is the lead pastor of Quest Church in Seattle's Interbay neighborhood, and co–founder of the nonprofit One Day's Wages. He decided to give up his own salary for a year. And that had consequences he never expected — including moving his family out of their home. He tells KUOW's Jeannie Yandel about what came out of his family's sacrifice.
