Ennio Morricone's Cinematic Music
Jeremy Richards
02/13/2010
Ennio Morricone is an Italian composer best known for scoring films such as "The Good the Bad and the Ugly." He has over 500 film and TV credits to his name. Local composer Michael Owcharuk says Morricone's music borrows from jazz, folk and classical influences to evoke cinematic emotion in his audiences — even if they never see the films. Michael Owcharuk talks with KUOW's Jeremy Richards.
Music featured includes "Rabbia e Tarantella," "Tema d' Amore" and "The Ecstasy of Gold" by Morricone, and "Blueprint 2" by Jay–Z.
