Suicide

When Cynthia Doyon committed suicide, we were stunned. She was our colleague, someone we talked with, argued with, laughed with and planned with. We may have known she was unhappy, unsatisfied, but enough to take her life? When did that pain begin? Why didn't we see it? How did it happen? Why didn't we know? What should we have done differently? How could we have reached out? Why didn't I prevent it? Those are the questions that troubled many of us. Suicide is hard to consider and hard to confront. Seattle Weekly writer Philip Dawdy has had his own dark dealings with suicidal feelings. He has written a cover story on suicide, focusing on Cynthia's suicide. He and other guests join us on Weekday.
