Vivian is a veteran communications professional, known for her collaborative style in building partnerships and engaging communities. Her body of work spans radio and television broadcast, independent theatre producing, teaching, arts and communications management and consulting, and community-based arts planning. Vivian has served in numerous non-profit and government related capacities including director of marketing and communications for the Seattle Theatre Group, director of communications for Seattle Mayor Paul Schell, interim director of the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center, managing director of The Hansberry Project, and as an international representative to the Africa Contemporary Arts Consortium. She served 6 years on the Seattle Arts Commission, as chair for 3 years, leading efforts to achieve equitable arts funding and increased funding to Seattle's Office of Arts and Culture to accomplish equity goals. She has previously served on the boards of Arts Corps, CD Forum, LANGSTON, Seafair, and the Seattle Women’s Commission. Vivian now provides independent consultancy for projects related to arts inclusion in local developments, arts and equity, arts and humanities, community engagement, technical assistance and marketing for artists and arts programs. Vivian currently serves as a KUOW representative to the U of W Foundation, on the board of 4Culture and as an advisor to the Seattle University based Arts Ecosystem Research Project.
