Kim Malcolm talks with Seattle's former interim police chief Jim Pugel about the recent fatal shootings in downtown Seattle.

On Wednesday night, one person was killed and several others injured in a shootout in front of the Mcdonald's at 3rd Avenue and Pine Street. A man was shot to death less than a block away the day before.

Pugel spent more than 30 years with the Seattle Police Department, serving as interim chief, beginning in 2013. He retired from SPD in 2014.
