Senate confirmation hearings for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to serve as head of Health and Human Services are underway in Washington. Kennedy has sparked controversy for making unscientific claims about vaccines, HIV-AIDS and other health matters.

His plan for solving the nation’s drug overdose crisis is also drawing criticism from many of the country’s top addiction experts.
