On Tuesday, voters will see Tim Walz and JD Vance on stage as they face off in the first and only vice presidential debate.
Walz has been a coach, a teacher, a congressman and a governor. One item on his resume that may come up in the debate is his many trips to China. In one of his first jobs, during his 20s, he spent a year teaching in China. Then, over several years, he and his wife brought many students on trips to China. He also connected with human rights activists there.
