re:Building Democracy

We find ourselves in a time when deepening polarization—amplified by the 24-hour news cycle, social media, and partisan outlets—threatens to erode the bedrock faith in the electoral and democratic process on which our democracy depends.

How can we renew our commitment to democratic governance? What can we do to cultivate mutual respect, repair damaged relationships, and reweave a civic fabric frayed from years of growing division?

KUOW, NWPB (Northwest Public Broadcasting), and SPR (Spokane Public Radio) are partnering with Humanities Washington to produce “Re:Building Democracy,” a special series examining voting and civic reconciliation as essential habits for a healthy democracy.

Join with members of your own community and people across the state to explore possibilities for the future of our democracy.

KUOW’s episode aired on Sunday, January 31 at 7 p.m., and on Thursday February 4 at 11 p.m. on 94.9 FM Seattle (You can find it now at KUOW.org).
