Apollo 11 at the Museum of Flight

1969 was a year of firsts, and it’s offered us a lot of 50th anniversaries in 2019. But one is particularly special: the day that a human being walked on the moon. You can commemorate the occasion at the Museum of Flight, where the Apollo 11 command module is on display. This is the module’s first trip outside the National Air and Space Museum since the museum opened in 1976. Geoff Nunn is Adjunct Curator for Space History.

ALIGNVOTE

August marks the city council primaries – who should you vote for? You could ask friends, watch debates, read policy proposals… and/or go to the website alignvote.com. You’ll take a little quiz about the issues, and it will tell you which candidate is your best bet. The site was founded by Steve Murch.

John Bogle, Vanguard

John Bogle was the founder of the Vanguard Investment group. He believed that you shouldn’t have to pay exorbitant fees to get into the stock market, and went on to write a book called Battle for the Soul of Capitalism. He passed away this year at the age of 89; we’re sharing an interview he did with Ross Reynolds in 2005.
