Amid the highly-watched and anticipated spectacles on Sunday (apparently there was also a football game) was a commercial featuring two prominent Seattle figures.

The most obvious appearance was a quick shot of Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best as Verizon hyped its own service. The company was driving hard on an angle that 5G will help emergency responders better communicate, showing photos of firefighters, police, medical professionals, and more.

The ad was narrated by actor Harrison Ford.

A photograph of Best appears for about two seconds toward the end of the ad. According to the police department, they were contacted by Verizon's ad agency the week prior to the big game.

“It’s great that Verizon highlighted the work of our first responders during a Super Bowl commercial,” Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best said in response to the ad. “I was honored when asked to appear in it just this past week.”

She wasn't the only Seattle feature, however. The song, "River Cross," which played under the ad, is performed by Seattle's own Pearl Jam. It's from the band's upcoming album Gigaton, slated for a March release.
