Online searches for Black-owned businesses have skyrocketed in Seattle.

And now there's a new app to find them.

The app -- Black-owned restaurants in Seattle -- can be found via its website.

Developer Erik Larson made it this Junes as a way to support the Black Lives Matter movement.

"I think we should be supporting the community right now, and you can support continuously in this way," he said.

According to Google trends, searches for "Black-owned businesses" have spiked during the month of June as protests for racial justice continued. Over the past 90 days, Washington state ranks fourth for states where this online search is most commonly made. Searches for Black-owned businesses specifically in Seattle started going up in late May.

Searchers may come across Larson's online app, which features dozens of restaurants like Emma's BBQ and Plum Bistro -- all listed with their phone number and information. It's just one of the sites helping people find, and support, Black-business owners.

There is also the website Intentionalist, or the Instagram account "Seattle Black Businesses." There are also a few Google spreadsheets circulating around social media.

For now, Larson's app only includes Seattle restaurants. But that could change moving forward.

"So I've had requests to expand to the Eastside, so Bellevue and those areas, so I'll probably do that," he said. "But yeah, I'm definitely open to other categories of services."

People can use the app on a phone or computer, and find about a hundred restaurants.
