PHOTOS: Snow day! School is out and sleds are in

By the end of Monday, 5 to 10 inches of snow will have fallen across the Seattle area.

Snow started falling after 3 p.m. on Sunday; roughly 2 inches fell on parts of Seattle overnight.

The winter storm warning was set to expire at 1 p.m. on Monday.

Monday was also the day that Seattle's long-awaited, deep bore tunnel finally opened.

But Seattle must have a sense of humor, because hours after the tunnel officially opened, the city dumped a bunch of snow onto the city. (Snow started dusting downtown after 3 p.m. on Sunday.)
