Civic Cocktail: Journalists discuss wildfire season, LGBTQIA after Stonewall

Civic Cocktail is a regular series produced by Seattle CityClub and Seattle Channel.

In the first segment of the Civic Cocktail June program, they previewed what to expect from the 2019 fire season with Washington Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz.

In the second half of the evening, Former Seattle Deputy Mayor Anne Levinson and Tobi Hill-Meyer, co-executive director of the Gender Justice League, discussed the state of the LGBTQIA community 50 years after the Stonewall riots.

Journalist Joni Balter is the host of Civic Cocktail. She was joined by journalists Brady Piñero Walkinshaw, the CEO of the Grist news outlet, and CR Douglas of Q13 News.

This event took place at the Tom Douglas Palace Ballroom on June 5. KUOW’s Sonya Harris recorded the conversation.
