Photos: First day fits lowkey slapped at Seattle's Roosevelt High

One thing never goes out of style: The sanctity of the back-to-school outfit. KUOW went to Roosevelt High School on Wednesday morning to see what students were wearing on their first day of school.

Finn Flanigan, a freshman at Roosevelt High School in northeast Seattle said he is getting into clothes. On his first day of school, September 4, 2024, Finn wore pants he thrifted in Portland, Oregon, and a worn T-shirt of an Alaskan bear that he found at a pop-up vintage store in Ravenna.

For the first day of school at Roosevelt High on September 4, 2024, Sara Zahedi, 14, wore black jeans she's owned for a while, black Adidas Campus sneakers, and a jersey fabric hijab she bought off the website Modanisa. In terms of style, Sara said she is "everywhere generally, but I would describe my style as street fashion. I like clothes, and if I were really, really rich, I'd have a lot more."
